Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.

Hebrews 11:1

MINISTER PATRICIA KEMP

Minister Patricia Kemp was called to preach in 1992, however, she spoke to no one other than her pastor, one very close prayer partner/friend and, prior to being approved for licensing, the Presiding Elder of the Conference.

Although Minister Kemp was interested in preaching the Word of God, she wanted to be sure she was answering a call from God and not one from man. Soon she was licensed to preach on November 2, 1993 at Christ Tabernacle Christian Fellowship and has earnestly leaned and depended upon God’s Word to encourage and teach the saints.

In her years of Christian service, Minister Kemp held over 15 various positions in the church. Currently, she serves in music ministry with the Majestic Community Choir as past president and now serves on the chaplain board.

Minister Kemp received a Bachelor of Science degree in education, a Masters of Science in Curriculum and Instruction and a PhD in urban education with a concentration in multicultural studies from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. She is certified as a principal through Marquette University.

She is a past recipient of the Herb Kohl Teacher’s Fellowship, was awarded the Metropolitan Milwaukee Alliance of Black School Educators teacher of the year award in 2018, the Parent of the year award at Parkview Elementary School and at Northwest Secondary School. She has received numerous community awards for volunteerism including Washington Park Senior Center, the House of Peace Community Center and the Shepherd’s Express Hero of the week in conjunction with the Express Yourself arts therapy group.  She has served as a mentor for many youth, MPS alumnus, undergraduate, graduate and PhD candidates at various universities.
