REVEREND ROY YOUNG
Rev. Roy Young, a man of great faith, gladly answered the call to the ministry to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ. He serves as one of the Associate Ministers at Silver Spring Church of God. Roy accepted Jesus as his Lord and Savior in 1984 while attending a church meeting.
A graduate of North Division High School, Roy studied finances which allowed him to spend over 26 years in the banking industry.
Roy has served in the ministry for over 35 years and was licensed and ordained in 2005. He was the Associate Pastor at Fountain of Life Church and the Lord transitioned him from Undershepherd of the congregation to pastor for two years. Throughout his journey, he received inspiration from many pastors, clergy and other spiritual leaders to share the Good News wherever God led him.
Roy inspires the congregation with one of his favorite affirmative statements, "Can't nobody do me like Jesus! Absolutely, positively, unequivocally nobody!"
Roy's commitment to God has been a blessing to his family, his church family and others as he follows the leading of God's spirit. He and his wife LaVerne have been married for over 45 years. God blessed this wonderful union with two sons and three grandsons.
