For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ; for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.

PASTOR DERRICK NASH

Pastor Derrick Nash is a well respected and charismatic leader in evangelic circles. Known for his strait forward, no nonsense approach to the Gospel, he often uses humor to soften the rough edges of Biblical truths.

Pastor Nash was one of the four founding members of Mequon Church of God, started and pastored by his father, the late Rev. Flowers Nash. While under his father’s leadership, Pastor Nash served in any capacity available to aid the ministry. Under his father his volunteer duties included, usher, chairperson, Sunday school teacher, choir member, drummer, Assistant Pastor, VBS teacher, trustee, men’s leader, youth leader, repairman, landscaper, snow removal, cook, cleanup crew, painter, van driver, and much, much more. Pastor Nash was never asked to do these jobs, but rather he saw a need and always believed pitching in was part of his reasonable service for the Kingdom.

When his father went home to be with the Lord in 2010, Pastor Nash answered the call to take on his most challenging roll yet; to lead the congregation forward in his father’s absence.

Pastor Nash has served as the senior pastor of Silver Spring Church of God for the past ten years and during that time the church added a computer lab, coffee shop, livestream ministry, mentoring program, vibrant youth group and is looking to add an after school tutoring program for the youth in the neighborhood and prison ministry in the fall.

Pastor Nash with Pastor Darryl Simmons founded and serves as the leader of the State of Wisconsin Unity Service, where the various sister churches come together for joint worship. In the ten years the churches have been coming together, Pastor Nash only spoke once, choosing to promote and support other pastors and ministers.

Currently, Pastor Nash is working on an illustrated children’s book.
